A Few of my Favorite Things

I love makeup! I’ll never forget my first REAL lipstick, it was from Prescriptives and the color was Cassis. It was splendid. It was the 90’s. I’ve upped my game in my ripe old age, and I’d love to share just a few of my go-to items!

I work full time, and I have two little girls, so I need a quick and easy makeup routine most mornings. These products are great alone, as well as all together.

First I start with IPKN Primer. I received this in a Birchbox, and I’m so glad I did! The primer leaves a luminous tint, I swear. I turn my head and light just reflects off of my face. LOVE. Oh and it has SPF!

I’m a sucker for anything Chanel, it’s the epitome of class and elegance. I use foundation but not everyday…. it’s good to let your skin breathe! But when you’re ready to suffocate it, do so with Chanel’s perfection lumiere foundation. It goes on silky smooth, and leaves your skin with a satiny finish. I look five years younger when I wear this. And shhhh I use my fingers to apply.

On days where I really don’t feel like wearing makeup but I want just a little hint of oomph, I use SkinCeuticals physical fusion SPF 50. This is a best seller at my spa BodyBrite Bayside, and the best part- It’s tinted and it’s universal! It fits every skin tone! You can’t beat that. I wore this on my last vacation to Key West and my big nose didn’t turn red once. Lucky me.

Now- for the mother of all mothers, my hidden secret. I don’t know about you, but I’m fucking TIRED. Ain’t no amount of Botox gonna help me. I use Well Rested from bareMinerals. I apply this powder under my eyes & the name says it all. I realize I overdo it sometimes and I wind up looking like powder, but I can’t help it. I want to fucking bathe in it. WAKE ME UP.IMG_1115

So, as a person who loves makeup, I’ve been so sad lately, because my eyes have been reacting horribly to certain mascaras. After many trials and tribulations, I’ve finally found a mascara that doesn’t irritate me! Woohoo! It’s Clinique lash doubling mascara. Not gonna lie- I was blessed with some luscious ass lashes, so I don’t need much. It’s ok, I have big feet.

A favorite drugstore brand eyeliner I like is Almay long wearing eyeliner in brown. I love that I don’t need a sharpener, the color is nice and smudges easily. My kids really like it too. Next time they destroy it and write all over their legs I will post about it.

Get that glow!! I seriously am having a love affair with glominerals highlight duo in candle. It’s perfect to brighten up your skin! You get just the right amount of glow without looking glittery. I use the gold tone on my cheeks and the pink tone on my nose and chin. Glo minerals is PETA friendly and bonus it has SPF!

Let’s not forget about Lips! This was the first lipstick I purchased after getting my lips plumped. I was excited to show those bad boys off. I’ve had a life with tiny lips. Pray for me. I’m very fortunate to live in an era where we can pay people to stick needles in our face and fill us with hyaluronic acid. This Bobbi Brown lipstick in Guava goes great with a tan!

Hope you’ve enjoyed to learn about what’s in my makeup bag right now! I decided not to take pictures of some of the other items in there: an Elena of Avalor band-aid, old pencil sharpenings, a dirty gummy bear, and a loose key. You’re welcome. Don’t forget to drop a comment or an F-Bomb below!  XOIMG_1135

    1. Hi Lindsey!

If you have dry skin, make sure to put some serum on underneath! Hope you love it as much as I do!

    1. Hi Sam!

Baking sounds like a great idea (unless it’s in the kitchen). Let me know how it turns out! I’m going to try it myself.
